[ad_1]

They are currently hosting classes and talks to inform, educate, and enlighten. The sense of place is now physical and virtual, a destination where teachers and attendees can gather, engage, and empower themselves with knowledge.

They strive to accomplish this via their monthly calendar of workshops and classes hosted by an incredible team of resident herbalists and a collective community of teachers. All educators embody their ethos; one rooted in the celebration of plants, ancestral wisdom, healing, and consciousness.

This Spring, there will be three magical offerings to celebrate the intention of living well.

Nourishing Sky: An Astrological Exploration in Self-Care

Join author of Body Astrology, Claire Gallagher as she dives into the goal of self-care through astrology. Attendees will learn to identify and understand the parts of their personal natal chart that affect the body and shapes health narratives. Receive an in-depth look at natal Moon and what it may need to feel most supported.

Watch Claire’s interview on her book Body Astrology on The Alchemist’s Kitchen YOUTUBE channel.

Week One: Body Astrology Basics

Learn the basics of medical astrology such as the differences between planets, signs, houses, and where to begin looking for health information within astrological charts. Identify ones own “Body Astrology Triad” (Sun, Moon, Rising) and what they represent in a person’s health story. Learn which houses govern well-being and what the signs and planets there may need to feel supported.

Week Two: Be Kind to Your Moon

One’s Moon is the prime ruler of personal rhythm and body care. Accepting and respecting it is the foundation of astrological self-care. In week two, learn how the element, qualities and phase of the natal Moon translates to day-to-day energy flow and nourishment needs. Go even deeper by exploring the relationships one’s own natal Moon has with other planets (aka aspects).

*Please bring a copy of your natal chart to class for reference, preferably calculated using whole sign houses.

BOOK CLUB: Awakening Artemis with Author & Herbalist Vanessa Chakour

Join The Alchemist’s Kitchen for a 5-part virtual series lead by Author and herbalist, Vanessa Chakour. Each class begins with a grounding meditation before diving into a plant featured in Awakening Artemis. Attendees will explore the medicine and themes associated with each plant, do brief journaling exercises and have space for sharing and self-reflection. Students will learn how to identify each plant in the wild, learn about the plant’s lore, explore uses in holistic herbalism, and integrate their own practices between sessions.

Attendees will also recieve a copy of Awakening Artemis along with herbal oils, tinctures, teas or flower essences ethically made from each plant the course focuses on — mugwort, wild rose, dandelion, skullcap and chaga — for an embodied experience during the course.

  • Learn to identify mugwort in the wild
  • Explore the many ways to work with this prolific plant
  • Set an intention for the week and work with mugwort
  • Journal; reflect during class and between sessions
  • Read from chapter one of Awakening Artemis
  • Students in the storytelling circle will have an opportunity to share in more depth

Week two – WILD ROSE: Boundaries

Week five – SKULLCAP: Deep Sleep

Week six – CHAGA: Intimacy

Midwifing The Mystery: Writing the Arcana

Over the period of this workshop, students will discover, dive into, and retell the story of each of the major arcana cards in the tarot.

Each of these cards holds and vibrates with an ancient story. These stories shift and flex depending on the cultural history of the times– and at the same time– the deities, the ancestors, the myths within them remain who they are. In this series learners practice being with who these cards are, what they represent or mean now, personally and collectively and the deep and oftentimes challenging medicine they can offer. And then students will create space to find the questions within themselves and the cards to re-write these stories for these times, creating and re-mything these cards together.

These cards truly are ancestors– each one comes with their own unique wisdoms from how to begin, create, birth, organize. Learn to go within, to be initiated into the newness one desires, that your innermost guides ask. And how to truly transform, to become and evolve. These cards map the mystery of life, of human and more than human experiences. Learn how to become the midwives of ones own stories, ancient and new ones that want to come through.

The course will begin with The Fool and practice until The World.

This workshop will span 5 weeks, where students will meet twice a week. Each week students will practice being with 1, 2 or 3 cards, doing deep listening, somatic practicing, and lots of writing so when they are done they not only have written new myths, but also have a vast, expansive, personal, collective and nuanced understanding of these cards which will help in readings.
