UNICEF: More than 500 children were killed in the war in Ukraine

The executive director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced on Monday night that more than 500 children have been killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

“Another sad milestone for Ukrainian children and families,” Catherine Russell wrote on Twitter, citing written reports from Anatolia news agency. At least more than 500 children have been killed since the war began in February 2022.

He also emphasized that the real figure is probably much higher than the numbers confirmed by UNICEF, and this figure does not take into account injuries and psychological damage.

Russell also added that approximately 1,000 children have been injured in the war, leaving irreparable wounds—both visible and invisible—that can be life-long with the effects of drugs or medications.
