Leila Abdullah Eva, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in France, expressed her hope that the peace treaty between this country and Armenia will be signed on June.

According to the Reuters news agency, the heads of 47 countries and senior officials of the European Union institutions are scheduled to attend the meeting of the “European Political Community” hosted by Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.

This western media reported, quoting “diplomatic sources”, that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev will meet and consult with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Schultz on the sidelines of this meeting.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in France answered the questions about the speculations regarding the simultaneous presence of Aliyev and Pashinyan in the meeting of Moldova in the group of Paris journalists on Friday.

“We hope that a peace treaty will finally be signed in Chisinau on June 1 (between Baku and Yerevan),” said Leila Abdullah Eva. This is a historical moment and a sign that should not be missed.”

The hope expressed by Baku’s ambassador in Paris about the signing of the peace treaty between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia was raised in the context that last Thursday Aliyev and Pashinyan held a joint meeting in Russia hosted by Vladimir Putin.

According to Reuters, the tripartite meeting of the heads of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia ended without signing a specific agreement, but the parties agreed that new tripartite meetings of officials will be held next week.
