UN officials have warned of humanitarian catastrophes caused by the internal conflicts in Sudan.
According to Al-Alam, Martin Griffiths, the United Nations humanitarian affairs officer, announced in a statement that the Darfur region is rapidly moving towards a humanitarian crisis, and the people of this region are living in a real nightmare.
He added that tribal violence has spread, and this issue increases the risk of the resumption of racial and ethnic tensions that caused bloody conflicts twenty years ago.
Griffiths asked the world to prevent the recurrence of such a tragedy.
He also added that about one million and seven hundred thousand people have been displaced and humanitarian aid reserves have been looted and hundreds of people have been killed due to conflicts.
