For customers purchasing one of LaPorte’s T-Top Covers, they can choose from a couple of fabric options when ordering. In recent weeks, the company added Sunbrella as a fabric option to their current fabric offerings.
Since the company’s conception, LaPorte has always offered 100% solution-dyed polyester in both 8 oz and 9 oz material for its covers, with 9 oz being a heavier, longer-lasting material than the 8 oz. LaPorte has had many requests for Sunbrella covers over the years, and wanted to give that option to their customers, thus came Sunbrella. The new Sunbrella fabric is also 100% solution-dyed but is acrylic rather than polyester.
Sunbrella T-Top boat covers will be available for boats under 32 feet upon launch and will be available in three fade-resistant colors: black, smoke, and marine blue. The company hopes to offer additional colors in the future.
Sunbrella is known by many people for its outdoor upholstery and umbrellas. Sunbrella provides ultimate UV protection, fade resistance, mold and mildew resistance, and cleanability. The Skin Cancer Foundation has also recommended the fabric as part of a complete sun protection regimen for producing sun-induced skin damage.
